Ігоря Сікорського введено в експлуатацію новий дизель-генератор для живлення під час регулярних відключень електропостачання внаслідок війни. Його потужність 16 кВт із запасом перекриває потреби вузла, а водяне охолодження забезпечує стабільну роботу навіть в аномальну спеку, яка спостерігається в Києві цим літом. Генератор HYUNDAI придбано на кошти, що поступили як донати від членів GÉANT та самої Асоціації GÉANT через благодійний фонд Вітча (Vietsch Foundation) як допомога на відновлення Української науково-освітньої телекомунікаційної мережі УРАН.   New standby generator is placed into service at the central node of the URAN network Press Release 18th July 2024, Kyiv A new diesel generator for reliable power supply during regular blackouts due to the war is installed in the central node of the URAN network at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Its power of 16 kW covers the node's needs with a margin, and the water cooling ensures stable operation even in the abnormal heat observed in Kyiv this summer. The generator HYUNDAI was purchased with funds received as donations from GÉANT members and the GÉANT Association itself through the Vietsch Foundation as aid for the restoration of the Ukrainian Research and Academi Network URAN.
